Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi addressed a press conference in Srinagar on Thursday after visiting Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday along with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge ahead of the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and said that we want to give a message to the people of Jammu and Kashmir as well as the people of every state of the country that for us the representation of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the status of the state is most important.

There are many examples in the history of India of converting a union territory into a state after independence, but Jammu and Kashmir is the only example of a union territory being stripped of its state status. Rahul also referred to the results of the Lok Sabha elections and said that the India Alliance has lost the trust of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The ideology of alliance, love and unity of Congress and India has broken his confidence. 'I protect democracy in the whole country but my goal is to end the pain of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. We want to end the pain that you suffer forever, the fear under which you live. Rahul and Kharge reached a restaurant in Srinagar for dinner on Wednesday night. Rahul enjoyed traditional Kashmiri cuisine here. After dinner, both of them reached the ice cream parlor in Lal Chowk.
