The craze of fans to watch the great war of cricket and the exciting matches between India and West Indies is not hidden from anyone. JSCA International Cricket Stadium located in Ranchi, the sports city of Jharkhand, is all set to host the international T-20 match once again. Thousands of cricket lovers are expected from every corner of the country to watch this high-voltage match between India and West Indies (IND vs WI T20 Match) to be held on 9 October 2026. All the tickets for the stadium have already been sold and there is a celebratory atmosphere in the city. But controlling such a huge crowd and gathering of spectators has become a big challenge for the administration. To ensure that the traffic system is not disrupted and sports lovers do not face any inconvenience in reaching the stadium, Ranchi Traffic Police has issued a comprehensive and strict traffic and parking plan. If you too are preparing to go to the stadium to enjoy this match, then before leaving the house, be sure to know about these new rules and no-entry zones issued by the Traffic SP.

No entry of general vehicles and ban on heavy vehicles from Shalimar Chowk to North Gate

Strict changes will be seen in the traffic rules on many major routes of the city from the morning of the match day i.e. 9th October. According to the traffic police advisory, there will be a complete ban on the entry of heavy goods vehicles on the main roads of the city from 6 am to 11 pm on the match day. Such heavy vehicles have been instructed to use the ring road to reach their destination. Apart from this, the most important change has been made in Dhurwa area, where there will be a complete ban on operation of normal vehicles from Shalimar Chowk to North Gate of JSCA Stadium. Only authorized vehicles, security forces and ambulances belonging to emergency services will be allowed to travel on this route. The police have appealed to the common citizens and local drivers to avoid using their personal four-wheelers on this route during the match so that unnecessary traffic jams can be avoided.

Parking places have been decided as per the ticket, one will have to park the vehicle and walk on foot.

Cricket lovers will have to especially keep in mind that this time parking arrangements have been made at different places at some distance from the stadium, that is, you cannot directly reach the stadium gate with your car. For spectators with tickets for the South and South-East gates, parking arrangements have been made near Dhurva Roundabout, Jawahar Stadium, Miyan Market and Prabhat Tara Ground, where after parking their vehicles, spectators will have to reach the stadium on foot. Similarly, ticket holders of West Gate will have to go through Sakhua Maidan, Dhurva Bus Stand and Sambo Camp More and park their vehicles at the designated parking spots. For the visitors coming from Naya Sarai and Ring Road, a parking space has been earmarked in the helipad ground in front of the High Court. Keeping in mind the security reasons and crowd management, the police has made it clear that strict action will be taken against parking vehicles on the roadside anywhere other than the designated parking spots.

Arrangement of separate routes and entrances for VIP and VVIP vehicles.

Unlike the general visitors, for those coming with VIP or VVIP passes, the administration has determined a separate and safe route of movement. The vehicles of such special guests and pass holders will be able to directly reach the special VIP entry route located near the North Gate of the stadium via Shalimar Market, Prabhat Tara Ground and Paras Hospital. Separate safe parking arrangements have been made for these vehicles around the North Gate so that they do not have to face any kind of crowd. Apart from this, security arrangements like a green corridor between the airport, hotel and stadium have been kept for the buses of players and match officials, so that the general traffic is not disrupted during their movement.
