IND Vs ENG: Indian batsmen in Dharamshala, second day successful for Team India; English bowlers surrendered

New Delhi : The second day of the 5th Test match being played between India and England in Dharamsala was not good for the Indian batsmen. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill batted brilliantly and scored centuries. Whereas, Sarfaraz Khan and Devdutt Padikal scored half-centuries. By the end of the day's play, Team India had scored 473 runs on the scoreboard after losing 8 wickets.

Rohit-Gil scored centuries

The beginning of the second day was strong for the Indian team. Rohit Sharma scored the 12th century of his Test career and played a brilliant inning of 103 runs. While Shubman Gill scored 110 runs. Gill and Rohit made a good partnership of 171 runs for the second wicket.

After Rohit-Gill returned to the pavilion, Sarfaraz Khan and Devdutt Padikal performed well with the bat. Sarfaraz, playing in a stormy style, completed his half-century in just 55 balls. Sarfaraz was out after scoring 56 runs on 60 balls. Devdutt Padikal, who was debuting in Test cricket, played a strong inning of 65 runs facing 103 balls. However, Jadeja, Ashwin and Dhruv Jurel could not show anything special with the bat. When Ashwin was out on zero, Jadeja and Dhruv could score only 15-15 runs.

The English bowling attack looked completely helpless on the second day of the Test. The Indian batsmen thrashed the team's bowlers severely. Shoaib Bashir looked somewhat impressive for England and took 4 wickets. However, Bashir also gave 170 runs in 44 overs.

Team India is in a strong position

On the basis of first innings, Indian team's lead is 255 runs. Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav made an unbroken partnership of 45 runs for the 9th wicket. Kuldeep is batting on 27 runs and Bumrah on 19 runs.
