A case was registered against film producer Ram Gopal Varma on Monday in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. The complaint alleges that he made derogatory posts on social media during the promotion of his film ‘Vyuham’, thereby hurting the reputation of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, his son and IT Minister Nara Lokesh, Vahu Brahmani and other TDP workers.

According to reports, Ram Gopal Varma is accused of sharing allegedly morphed photographs of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on social media.
Case registered under IT Act
Sub-inspector Shiva Ramaiah said that based on the complaint by TDP divisional secretary Ramalingam, a case has been registered against Verma under the IT Act for online defamation and misusing digital platform to spread false information. He said that investigation into the allegations has been started.
This film was released last year
His film was released late last year ahead of the simultaneous elections for Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha. Varma’s film is based on the tragic death of then Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy in a helicopter crash in 2009 and the subsequent formation of the YSR Congress Party by his son YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
