In which many senior officials are likely to participate. The cost of the ongoing project of handing over weapons to both the armies is Rs. 1,20,000 crore. An important decision can be taken in this regard today.
Indian Navy will get 7 new warships
According to defense sources, 7 new warships will be added to the Indian Navy under Project 17 Bravo. This will be the most advanced intelligence warship ever. It is being said that under the Make in India initiative, the Defense Acquisition Council (DAC) meeting may approve the issuance of tenders worth about Rs 70,000 crore to Indian shipyards, including private sector shipyards.
Plan to upgrade old T-72 tanks
The Indian Army's proposal to replace T-72 tanks with 1,700 FRCVs may also be discussed in the DAC meeting. The Indian Army is planning to upgrade the old T-72 tanks. The Army wants to replace it with indigenous FRCVs as per the requirement. Which will be manufactured under the Make-1 process of the Defense Acquisition Process.
Army aims to complete the FRCV project
The army aims to complete the FRCV project in several phases. About 600 tanks will be built in each phase. The cost of the FRCV project is expected to be Rs. 50,000 crore.
