dearness allowance: The state government yesterday decided to give ad hoc bonus up to Rs 7,000 to class IV employees of various departments. Today, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, taking an important decision in the widespread interest of the employees of the state government, has decided to provide the benefits of the sixth and seventh pay commission to the state government employees from July 1, 2025 to provide the benefit of increase in dearness allowance on the central basis.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has announced a big gift to state employees and pensioners before Diwali. The state government has decided to increase dearness allowance at the central level, which will be effective from 1 July 2025. This decision will benefit 4.69 lakh employees and 4.82 lakh pensioners of the state.

Under this decision, dearness allowance has been increased by 3% for employees benefited from the Seventh Pay Commission, while the Sixth Pay Commission has announced an increase of 5% for employees benefited. This increase will be applicable to the employees of the state government, panchayat service employees and pensioners.

In addition, the difference amount (outstanding) from 1 July, 2025 to September 30, 2025 will be paid in the same installment. The state government will spend Rs 483.24 crore on the payment of these arrears, while on the annual basis, there will be an additional expenditure of Rs 1932.92 crore on salary and pension.

The Finance Department has been instructed to issue necessary orders to implement this employee friendly decision of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. This decision will double the enthusiasm of Diwali among the working and retired employees of the state.
