Income Tax Department: The investigation has now progressed in the case of cash worth Rs 50 lakh found inside a car during checking by the Static Surveillance Team (SST) and police at a check post set up on Gohana bypass in Sonipat, Haryana. The Income Tax Department team has issued a notice and sought a reply in the matter.
On Friday, the SST team was checking vehicles under the guidance of duty magistrate Dilbag Singh and under the leadership of ASI Bijendra posted at the city police station. During this, a Creta car was stopped and checked and Rs 50 lakh was recovered from it. The car rider identified himself as Surendra, a resident of Bakshi Colony, Jind.
He had told that he had brought money from Noida in Uttar Pradesh for the registration of the plot. The team had deposited the cash in the treasury and informed the Income Tax Department. Duty Magistrate Dilbag Singh said that now the Income Tax Department team has sent a notice to Surendra and asked for an answer about the cash. Meanwhile, the video of the case has gone viral on social media. It is being said that the car driver is close to a BJP leader.
