The Income Tax Department has issued a circular informing that all Income Tax offices will remain open from 29 to 31 March 2024. Actually, the department has taken this decision in view of the end of the financial year.
This time it is Good Friday on 29 March 2024. March 30 is Saturday and March 31 is Sunday. Whereas March 31, 2024 is the last day of the current financial year 2023-24, due to which the Income Tax Department has decided to cancel the long weekend.
Let us tell you that if this decision is not taken by the department, then the taxpayer gets only 3 days to complete the tax related work. This week also, due to Holi (Holi 2024), all the offices of the Income Tax Department will remain closed on Monday. In such a situation, this step has been taken by the department to provide convenience to the taxpayers.
