Jaipur, 2 October (Hindustan Reporter). Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated various development works in the country under the 'Swachhta Hi Seva' program on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma also joined the program through virtual medium from the Chief Minister's residence. In the inauguration works, sewerage treatment plants have been constructed in Churu and Ajmer of Rajasthan under Amrit Yojana.
In the program, the Prime Minister said that Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi had given the message of cleanliness during the independence movement, taking forward which we started the Swachh Bharat Mission in the country. With immense public participation, this mission has now become a mass movement. Modi said that under the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' fortnight, programs related to cleanliness were organized across the country. In these 15 days, 27 lakh programs were organized in which more than 28 crore people participated. He said that the Swachh Bharat Mission is a symbol of the unwavering commitment of crores of Indians and this mission will take the country to new heights.
The Prime Minister said that the Swachh Bharat Mission was popular across the world. Many foreign institutions also conducted studies on the success of this mission. This mission proved helpful not only in preventing disease infection but also in giving a dignified and safe life to women. He said that Safai Mitras have worked very hard to make this mission successful. Safai Mitras have received respect from the mission, the central government is also committed to providing them a safe and dignified life.
During this, the Chief Minister said that due to the tireless efforts of the country's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, cleanliness has now become a public service and a people's movement and the vision of a developed India and developed Rajasthan is being realized by growing on the foundation of Swachh Bharat. Sharma said that the Prime Minister is always at the forefront in the work of social concerns. Through campaigns like Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam and Swachhta Hi Seva, he has given a new direction to public participation in development works in the country.
It is noteworthy that in the inauguration works held today, sewerage treatment plants have been constructed in Churu and Ajmer of Rajasthan under Amrit Yojana. Sewerage treatment plants of 20 and 40 MLD capacity have been constructed in Ajmer city at a cost of Rs 75.12 crore and sewerage treatment plants of 1 and 2.5 MLD capacity have been constructed in Churu city at a cost of Rs 64.19 crore. This will develop waste management facilities in the area.
