Guwahati, 12 November (HS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate 18 Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras at various places on 13 November. He will virtually inaugurate these Jan Aushadhi Centers from Darbhanga. Among these 18 selected places, Agartala Railway Station of Tripura is also under the jurisdiction of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR).
Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, CPRO, PUSIRE today informed that Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra, a scheme launched by the Government of India to provide quality medicines at low cost to all, especially the poor and the underprivileged, through specialized stores. The campaign is to reduce out-of-pocket expenses in health care. Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra stores have been set up to provide generic medicines, where they are available at lower prices. But these are at par with expensive branded medicine in quality and effectiveness. The main objective of Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra is to reduce the health care budget of every citizen of India by providing “quality generic medicines at affordable prices” and it is being established in high-congested places.
The Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra is being established in the concourse area adjacent to platform number 01 of Agartala Railway Station, whose size is 2.5 meters X 4.5 meters. The total area of Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra in Agartala is 11.25 square meters. It will be easily accessible to commuters as well as the general public and is likely to be extremely beneficial for all sections of the society.
