Varanasi, 09 December (HS). A woman, suffering from financial constraints, committed suicide by hanging herself on Monday afternoon after sending her son to school. When the son returned from school, Bhelupur police came to know about the incident. After interrogation, the police took possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem.
Near Pushkar Pond in Assi, Mahendra Chauhan works to repair bicycles to support his family. Mahendra’s wife Rajmati Chauhan (36) was sad due to financial constraints at home. After sending her husband to the shop and son Aryan (07) to school on Monday morning, Rajmati made a noose of her saree in the room and swung herself in it. When Aryan returned home from school in the afternoon, he screamed after seeing his mother’s dead body hanging in the room. When the neighbors reached there after hearing his voice, they were stunned to see the sight inside the room. Neighbors informed the police about the incident. Police officers who reached the spot, after inquiry and investigation, got the body removed from the noose. According to Bhelupur police station in-charge, the body has been sent for post-mortem.
