Dhamtari, 22 August (HS). The general assembly meeting was held on 22 August in the meeting hall of the District Panchayat Office.
District Panchayat Vice President Nishu Chandrakar expressed his objection to the payment made to the contractors by the PHE officer present in the meeting without installing taps and stands in the tap connections of the houses under the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme in the villages and talked about transparency in the work.

On the other hand, the CC road dug up to lay connections has not been repaired seriously. Repairs are being done in a hurry by putting only a little gravel and cement in a space of four to six feet, the quality of which is poor. Yet the contractors are being paid in full.

Instructions have been given to the PHE officer to make payments to the contractors under the Jaljeevan Mission scheme only after investigating the matter and completing the work. Warning of action has been given if any irregularities are found. At the same time, it has been asked to post teachers in schools as per the setup. It is necessary to have one teacher for 30 students and two teachers for 60. District Education Officer TR Jagdalle has been instructed to immediately remove the surplus teachers from schools and post them in other schools 10 km away where there is a shortage of teachers. In the meeting, District Panchayat member Khublal Dhruv said that a Kamr child died in the government ashram of Karaiha recently. At the same time, a Kamr child died due to wall collapse in the school of Nagari. The continuous death of children in schools is a matter of concern. In this case, the hostel superintendent of the ashram should be strictly questioned to know the reason for the child's death and strict action should be taken if negligence is found, so that children remain safe in schools and hostels. Other members also spoke about the problems of their respective areas. In the general assembly meeting, agendas of other departments including Agriculture Department, Udanti Sitanadi Tiger Reserve, Tribal Development Department, District Trade and Industry were discussed.

Dhamtari MLA Omkar Sahu, Zilla Panchayat President Kanti Sonwani, Zilla Panchayat members Kavita Babar, Govind Sahu, Meena Banjare, Tarini Chandrakar, Manoj Sakshi, Suman Sahu, Damayanti Sahu, Zilla Panchayat CEO Roma Srivastava along with officers and employees of various departments were present in the meeting.
