Air Pollution: Since Diwali, many big cities of the country are in the grip of pollution. On Saturday (November 2), the average air quality index (AQI) of Amritsar, Punjab once again crossed 350. Apart from this, Amritsar remained the most polluted city in the country on Saturday. Due to Diwali fireworks, three cities of NCR including Delhi were included in the top ten most polluted cities of the country.

Haryana's Jind ranks third among the most polluted cities.

Amritsar recorded an average AQI of 364, while Ludhiana recorded an AQI of 339. Haryana's Jind was the third most polluted city in the country, where the average AQI was recorded at 337. The maximum AQI in Amritsar reached 605 at 11 am on Saturday. Ludhiana and Jalandhar also have a maximum AQI of 500.

Air quality was good in 51 cities before Diwali

There are more cities in Rajasthan and Maharashtra. Before Diwali, air quality was good in 51 cities. Whereas after Diwali, air quality was good in only 26 cities. The number of cities with very poor air index has increased from eight to 50. Pollution was more in densely populated cities.

After the improvement in Delhi, the air index started increasing and at 4 pm on Saturday, the air index of Delhi was 316, which is 23 points less than the previous day. But at eight o'clock in the night Delhi's air index reached 350. At 8 pm the air index in Anand Vihar and Sonia Vihar was 411 and 402 respectively.
