A review and coordination meeting was held on Monday in the Zila Parishad office with the Executive Engineer, SDO and Junior Engineer of the Electricity Department along with the Zila Parishad Chairman, who was upset with the arbitrary and irregular power supply of the Electricity Department. It was chaired by the Zila Parishad Chairman, Aftab Azim Pappu. Only the SDOs of Araria, Raniganj, Jokihat, Narpatganj and Palasi of the Electricity Department attended the meeting, while the Executive Engineer and not a single Junior Engineer were present in the meeting.
While presiding over the meeting, the Zilla Parishad President said that the main objective of today's meeting was to make them aware of the problems being faced by the public regarding electricity. Because today people are facing electricity problems in some form or the other in the entire district. No one is listening to their complaints. The people of the area complain to their public representatives, the District Councilor and other elected representatives and when the District Councilor wants to talk to the department official about their problem, his phone is also not received. In such a situation, there is a lot of anger among the public representatives towards the officials of the electricity department. Pappu Azim said that it is the responsibility of the department to make electricity easily available to the common people. Departmental officials are accountable for this. It is the important responsibility of the department that the public should get regular electricity supply and their problems should be resolved on time. In such a situation, not picking up the phone of the complaining consumer and public representative is ridiculous. After all, what are you officials for? He advised to improve this wrong practice.
He said that wherever any complaint comes from, meaningful efforts must be made for its immediate solution. He said that yesterday many people died due to electricity, if the system is proper then accidents will also reduce. While giving information, the Zilla Parishad President said that the general meeting of the Zila Parishad is to be held on 18th July, in such a situation he asked to make available, in any case, before the meeting, the copy of the compliance of the proposals taken regarding the electricity department in the last meeting.
Vice President Chandni Devi, District Councilor Rupam Jha, Waj Uddin, Parvez Anjum, Parvez Musharraf, Ishtiyak Alam, Aman Raj, Akash Raj, Satya Narayan Yadav, besides all the district councilors were present in the meeting.
