Now a big update related to this incident has come out. Four days after the murder, a joint team of police and security forces recovered the severed head of the deceased late on Wednesday night. There was huge anger among local organizations and Naga communities regarding this incident.

Police and CRPF team searched and found the head

The deceased has been identified as Ajinbou Ringamai. According to information received from police officials, Ajinbou’s head was missing after his murder, for which police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) teams were specially deployed to find it. After several days of hard work and search operation, the security forces were successful in this and the severed head was recovered late on Wednesday night.

Officials said that on Thursday morning the head of the deceased was sent to the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) hospital in Imphal for post-mortem. Earlier, on October 11, Ringkamai’s headless body was brought to the same hospital, after which there was an atmosphere of tension in the area.

He was brutally murdered in an attack by gunmen.

This entire incident happened when a village of Nagas was suddenly attacked by some unknown suspected militants and gunmen. During this violent attack, Ajinbou Ringkamai was brutally murdered. After the murder, his body was mutilated and the head was missing. Ever since this gruesome incident came to light, there was intense anger against the administration among the local villagers and family members. People were continuously demanding immediate arrest of the accused and recovery of the head of the deceased.

Naga organizations had given warning, had strongly protested

‘Joint Tribes Council Manipur’, the main organization of Naga communities, had taken a strong stance against this heinous massacre. The organization had given a 48-hour ultimatum to the administration, warning that their protest would continue until the severed head of the deceased was recovered and he was given a dignified funeral. In view of the increasing pressure and tension, the security forces had intensified their investigation.

It is noteworthy that for some time now, there have been incidents of violent clashes between different communities, especially Kuki and Naga groups, in Manipur. So far, more than 50 people have lost their lives in these incidents of violence in districts like Ukhrul, Kamjong, Kangpokpi, Noni and Tamenglong. At present, the administration has further tightened the security arrangements in the area so that any untoward situation can be dealt with.
