Lohardaga, June 16 (HS). BDO's daughter Tamanna Tirki (18) committed suicide late Saturday night in a government residence under Peshrar police station area of the district. Tamanna was a student of Ranchi Ursuline Convent Girls School. She had passed the 12th class examination this year. The reason for the suicide has not been revealed yet.
According to the information, Ajay Tirkey is working as BDO in the remote Naxal-affected area Peshrar block and his daughter lived in Ranchi. Due to school holidays, she had come to Peshrar to stay with her parents, where she was staying with them for a few days. On the day of the incident, BDO Ajay Tirkey had gone to a meeting and her mother had gone to the market. Finding herself alone in the house, Tamanna committed suicide by hanging herself.
On receiving the information of the incident, the Peshrar police station sent the body to Sadar Hospital Lohardaga for postmortem. On the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner, the SDO of the district Amit Kumar reached Sadar Hospital and took stock of the incident. In this case, Kisko Circle Inspector Chandrashekhar Azad says that the police is investigating the matter. Any conclusion can be reached only after the investigation. Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide.
