Where the in-laws of a newly married woman hit her on the stomach during pregnancy, due to which the child in her womb died in Motihari Sadar Hospital. During pregnancy, her in-laws beat her and even threw her out of the house.
The victim has filed a case against her husband and other in-laws in the women's police station. In this case, the women police station in-charge has registered a case under several serious sections and conducted raids against the victim's in-laws. However, all the accused are said to be absconding as soon as they got the information.
In the application related to the incident, the victim has told that she was married according to Hindu customs to Deepu Kumar, a resident of Godhwa Mufassil police station area, at Someshwar Mahadev temple in Areraj on 30 August 2023. She left from there and went to her in-laws' house. After marriage, my husband's father Krishna Prasad and mother said that you both have to study now. After 5 days of marriage, I started living with my husband and mother-in-law and father-in-law in Krishna Nagar. After living well for 10 days, my mother-in-law started taunting me and started demanding Maruti Wagon-R car in dowry. Tired of the harassment, I told everything to my family. After this, my father and brother came and pleaded a lot. Along with this, my parents also gave 2 lakh rupees to my in-laws on 10 September 2023.
After taking the money, on the insistence of my family members, on 7 November 2023, the marriage was registered in front of the Special Marriage Officer Motihari and the marriage certificate was also obtained. Meanwhile, she became pregnant. As soon as my husband and mother-in-law and father-in-law came to know about my pregnancy, they started harassing me more. On 2 October 2023, I was beaten on my stomach. Then I had a lot of trouble. After this, I told everything to my mother. On 4 October 2023, I was admitted to Sadar Hospital Motihari and an ultrasound was done.
Due to their harassment and wrong medication, my unborn child died. Meanwhile, my husband and his family left me alone and ran away. Due to fear of public shame, we did not file a case and started putting pressure on the social level. Meanwhile, a panchayat was organized on 9 June 2024, in which these people started abusing and threatening.
The victim has alleged that in the meantime my husband Deepu kept talking on phone and meeting me in hotels. During this time he also had physical relations with me. Due to which I became pregnant. The woman has filed a case in the women police station against her husband, mother-in-law, father-in-law and other in-laws for harassing her for dowry, beating her, killing the child in her womb, and throwing her out of the house after beating her. The investigation of which is being done by the women police station in-charge.
