Jhansi, 04 October (Hindustan Reporter). After a mutual dispute, the husband killed his wife by hitting an ax in the neck in village Bhagwantpura Madaiyan of Garautha police station area. The matter came to the media late on Thursday night, after which the police registered a case and conducted the post-mortem of the woman's body.

According to the villagers, Chhidami Ahirwar alias Bhante, resident of Madainyan, had an argument with his wife over some issue late on Wednesday night. The wife said some abusive words to the husband. The matter escalated so much that the angry husband attacked his wife several times with an axe. Son Golu woke up after hearing his mother's scream and when he raised an alarm, his family members and neighbors reached the spot. The bleeding woman was taken to Jhansi for treatment, where doctors declared her dead.

Since this incident was related to the family of the former head, the police station also tried to suppress it. When the media persons tried to get information about this incident from the police on Thursday, they refused to take any action in the matter. The station in-charge kept saying that till now no such complaint has come to us. When the matter came into discussion, the police came on the backfoot and action was initiated late in the night and a day later.

In this regard, SP Rural Gopinath Soni gave a statement on Friday. He said that a case has been registered in the matter based on the complaint received from the son of the deceased late on Thursday night. Further action is underway.
