Murshidabad, August 20 (HS). Protests are being held across the country demanding justice after the rape and murder of a female doctor in Kolkata's R.G. Kar. In this sequence, Jangipur Police of Murshidabad district has taken special steps to ensure the safety of women on roads, schools, colleges and other workplaces. From Tuesday morning, the women 'Winners' battalion of Jangipur Police District started patrolling various educational institutions, hospitals, parks and other important places of Raghunathganj city.

Members of the women 'Winners' Corps of the police district visited various important places in the city today and interacted with women. The police also assured the city residents of all kinds of security.

The members of the women 'Winners' Vahini first went to Jangipur Super Specialty Hospital on Tuesday morning. There they inspected various wards and talked to the nursing staff and assured them of all kinds of security. After this, the Vahini members went to Jangipur Girls College and talked to the girl students there.

Meanwhile, Jangipur District Superintendent of Police Anand Roy said, “For the time being, it has been decided that members of the police district's women 'Winners' Corps will patrol the areas around Raghunathganj and Dhuliyan cities. Two groups of this Corps will work to instill confidence in women.”

An official of the Jangipur police district said that initially it was decided that the 23-member women 'Winners' corps of police would do more patrolling in Raghunathganj town where there is a large crowd of women or in areas where incidents of harassment of women have been reported earlier.
