In Jaisalmer, there are proper arrangements for shade and water for relief from heat

Jaisalmer, May 27 (HS). On the initiative of Collector Pratap Singh, work is being done to provide relief to the general public from the scorching heat by arranging shade and water at important and crowded places in the district.

Municipal council commissioner Lajpal Singh said that under the joint aegis of the district administration and municipal council, shade drinking water arrangements have been made in the city at Dussehra Chowk above the fort, railway station parking, Gandhi Darshan Hanuman Circle, Hanuman Temple Power House, Collectorate premises, inside the hospital, in front of Mahendra Gas Godown, Ambedkar Park Barmer Road, in front of Sevko Ki Bagichi at Gadisar Lake, Vijay Stambh Circle, outside Akhe Prol and at Bhagwan Parshuram Chowk Patwa Haveli. Similarly, shade drinking water arrangements have been made by the Border Security Force on Sam Road.

He informed that in the heat wave and intense heat, an initiative has been taken to provide relief to the general public from the heat by putting up tents at public places in urban and rural areas of the district and keeping cold water campers in them. The district administration is monitoring the arrangements being made to provide relief from the heat in the city and ensuring excellent arrangements. Similarly, in the rural areas of the district, in the gram panchayats, for the arrangements of food and water for animals and birds, bird feeders installed on trees in government offices and towns, grain containers, play areas for water for animals and drinking water stalls and water coolers for the general public have been installed.

District Council Chief Executive Officer Bhagirath Bishroi has directed the concerned development officers that the Panchayat Raj Department should make proper arrangements for shade and water in rural areas by putting up tents. The arrangements made at the Gram Panchayat level for food and water for animals and birds in the summer season should be continued and their number should be increased further. In view of the scorching heat, the Administrative Secretary of the Panchayat Raj Department, Ravi Jain, had issued orders to make proper arrangements for fodder, food, water for animals and birds at the Gram Panchayat level or get it done through Bhamashah and social workers.
