Kheda: Annakoot was looted in the traditional manner today in the Ranchhodrai temple of Dakor, a mythological pilgrimage site in Kheda district. In which the citizens of 80 villages around the Dakor temple looted the Annakoot of Lord Ranchhodrai in the presence of the police.
Actually, the Dakot Temple Trust Committee has been following the tradition of looting this Annakoot as per the local customs since the time of construction of the present temple for 250 years. In which Annakoot is looted by devotees from about 80 villages around Dakor. At this time, a large number of devotees felt blessed by taking advantage of the darshan of Annakoot Loot and Prasadi.
Similar scenes are seen every year during the tradition of Annakoot Lont. In which the lock of Ranchhodrai temple is opened by the chief, people of 80 villages attack Annakoot. Meanwhile, devotees fight with each other to steal the food of the Lord.
The special thing is that devotees from 80 villages are invited by the temple administration itself to loot Annakoot. The devotees are accepting the Prasad considering it as their right.
Let us tell you that there is a tradition of looting Annakoot in only two temples in the entire country. Apart from Dakor, the tradition of this Annakoot robbery has been going on for years in the temple located at Nathdwara in Rajasthan. Even today, a grand prasad of sweets including boondi, rice, sweets and fruits was kept in 125 maund Annakoot in the Ranchhodrai temple located in Dakor.
