The stolen Shivalinga was installed under a Peepal tree. In the morning, when the people of the colony came to worship, there was no Shivling there, due to which people were surprised. People of the area informed this to Ashoka Garden police station. As soon as the information was received, the police started investigation. However, no complaint has been lodged at present.

Ashoka Garden police station in-charge Hemant Srivastava says that when the police reached the spot, they found Nandiji made of stone. Only Shivalinga was missing. Police are interrogating nearby residents. Apart from this, CCTV footage of the surrounding area is also being examined. It is being told that a person named Dinesh Goswami lives near the Peepal tree under which there is Shivalinga. Like everyday, he came on Friday morning to worship Shivalinga. But due to not finding Shivling, people became very angry and gathered and reached the police station where the police is investigating the matter.

Local people are angry with this incident. People said that thieves do not even spare God now. Police suspect that some anti-social elements may have carried out this incident. However, the police have appealed for peace and assured the local people that the Shivalinga will be found as soon as possible.
