In 14 states/union territories of the country, the number of women voters has exceeded that of male voters. This matter has come to light from the final voter list published on January 1st. When the electoral rolls were updated in January last year, the number of female voters was higher than male voters in 12 states/UTs.
However, at the national level the total number of women voters is still 2.40 crore less than the male voters. The number of Vyndal voters is 48,870. Tamil Nadu has the highest number of Vindal voters at 9,161. Maharashtra with 6,145 and Uttar Pradesh with 6,089 Vindal voters are at second and third place respectively. It is noteworthy that in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the voting figures of women were more than the voting figures of men. In this election, women’s voting was 65.8 percent while men’s voting was 65.6 percent.
According to an English newspaper report, this year the states/union territories where the number of female voters was more than male voters include Assam, Karnataka and Nagaland. On the other hand, the situation has reversed in Chandigarh. There, again this year, male voters outnumbered female voters. The voter list of Chandigarh and Nagaland is still provisional. Their final voter list will be published in a few days.
