Improve yourself, stop the drama: Congress state president attacks Sanjay Raut

Nana Patole said on Sanjay Raut: Lok Sabha election campaign has started in Maharashtra. Now, with only a few days left in the counting of elections, the tussle for the Sangli Lok Sabha seat continues in the opposition alliance Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA). There is also a tussle between Uddhav Thackeray's party Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut and Congress state president Nana Patole.

Maharashtra Congress state president Nana Patole criticized Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut, saying he is a big leader and should stop drama and follow decorum. Raut should not give statements like junior workers.

What did Sanjay Raut say?

Uddhav faction leader Sanjay Raut targeted Congress in an election rally held on Saturday. In his address, Rajya Sabha MP Raut said that if they try to increase our confusion in Sangli, then we will increase their problems in the entire state. Raut made this comment targeting BJP candidate Sanjayka Patil and Congress leader Vishal Patil. Nana Patole has reacted sharply to this statement of Raut.

Sanjay Raut should stop playing: Patole

Responding to Sanjay Raut's criticism, Congress leader Nana Patole said, “We are fighting BJP… which is against democracy in the country.” Our role is clear. In such a situation, it is not appropriate for Sanjay Raut to give a statement like a small worker. Therefore they need to improve now. We want to take the Sangli meeting forward in a peaceful manner but it is wrong for a big leader to make such a statement on our role. Sanjay Raut should stop the drama now. He is a big leader of Uddhav Thackeray group. Sanjay Raut should not work like a small worker.

Patole also said that the issue of Sangli seat will be resolved through mediation in two days. The MVA alliance includes Congress, NCP (Sharad Pawar) and Shiv Sena (Uddhav group). At the same time, all three parties of MVA are also part of 'India' alliance.

We will win Sangli: Raut

There is a tussle between the leaders of Congress and Uddhav Thackeray's party Shiv Sena regarding Sangli seat. Speaking to reporters in Mumbai last week, Sanjay Raut had said that all 48 seats in Maharashtra belong to MVA and not to Shiv Sena (UBT) or Congress. Since Sangli seat is with Shiv Sena, some people may be angry. Amravati and Kolhapur were our seats but we convinced our workers. If some Congressmen in Sangli are angry then it is the responsibility of the top leadership to convince them. We will try our best to win Sangli seat.

Congress party has been contesting elections from Sangli Lok Sabha seat of Maharashtra for a long time. However, in this year's Lok Sabha elections, the Uddhav faction claimed the Sangli seat but declared Chandrahar Patil as its candidate even before the decision was taken. Big leaders of Maharashtra Congress also expressed their displeasure on this, but the Uddhav faction has refused to withdraw its candidate.
