If you are planning to file your PF claim, download passbook or update your profile using the EPFO portal, you will have to wait a little longer. The online services of the Employees Provident Fund Organization are currently halted and due to maintenance work, their deadline has been extended once again. As per the latest update, now you will not be able to login to the portal till the beginning of July 2, 2026.
Restoration of services postponed for the third time
According to the official notice issued by EPFO, online services will now remain closed till 11:59 pm on July 1, 2026. Earlier there was a plan to restore them from June 28 and then from June 30, but due to technical upgradation this deadline had to be extended repeatedly. Now these services are expected to start smoothly from 00:00 pm (i.e. morning) of 2 July 2026. This is the largest and longest running technical maintenance campaign undertaken by EPFO in recent years.
Services stalled, these works affected
Due to this ongoing technical upgradation in the system, the Member Interface and Employer Interface are not fully functional. Major services affected by this include:
-
Online PF Claim and Transfer Request.
-
Downloading passbook and checking claim status.
-
Updating profile and personal details.
-
Digital services available through Umang App. For employers too, routine compliance and administrative work is currently stuck due to closure of the employer interface.
Why is such a big change happening?
EPFO says that this technical improvement is being done to integrate the database and modernize the software application of the claim processing system. This upgrade aims to provide faster, reliable and secure services to subscribers in the future. EPFO has issued a message on its portal appealing to all members and employers to be patient for this temporary inconvenience. As soon as the maintenance work is completed, subscribers will be able to go to the upgraded platform and complete their pending work.
