Pakistan’s National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has announced a meeting of an important parliamentary committee related to national security. The meeting will take place within the closed doors on Tuesday and it is considered to be very important in view of the growing terrorist attacks in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recently.
Why was there a need for a meeting?
According to the report of Don newspaper, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif urged the National Assembly Speaker to call a security meeting. The meeting will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 pm in Parliament House, where top officials of the Pakistani Army will give detailed information on the current security situation.

Who will be included in the meeting?
No permanent parliamentary committee was formed on security in Pakistan’s National Assembly (Low House of Parliament), so:
Members of permanent committees of defense and foreign affairs
Federal cabinet members
Chief Minister of the four provinces
All parliamentary parties
Will participate in this meeting to be held inside the closed doors.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Army Chief General Asim Munir will also be present in the meeting.
Deep concern over rising terrorist attacks
The Government of Pakistan is planning to launch a large -scale campaign against the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and other terrorist organizations. Recent attacks have become a serious challenge to the internal security of the country.

BLA attack on Jaffer Express in Balochistan on March 11:
- The attack took place near the hilly areas of Gudler and Piru Kunari.
- Terrorists surrounded the train carrying 440 passengers.
- The army killed all 33 terrorists in retaliation on 12 March.
- However, 21 passengers and 4 paramilitary personnel were killed in this attack.
