Important information related to exam city slip and admit card


Nta Exam Calendar 2024 Jee Main

The exam city slip of JEE Main Session 1 exam conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) will be released soon on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates can download it using their application number and date of birth.

Important dates and schedules

  1. Exam City Slip:
    • It may be released any time in the first week of January.
    • Expected date: January 7, 2025.
  2. Admit Card:
    • Will be available three days before the examination.
  3. Exam Dates:
    • Paper-1 (BE/B.Tech):
      • 22, 23, 24, 28, and 29 January.
      • First Shift: 9 am to 12 noon.
      • Second shift: 3 pm to 6 pm.
    • Paper-2 (B.Arch/B.Planning):
      • 30 January.
      • Second shift: 3 pm to 6:30 pm.

JEE Main Exam: Objective and importance of the paper

  1. Paper-1:
    • For Undergraduate Engineering Programs (BE/B.Tech).
    • Institutions recognized for admission:
      • NIT.
      • IIIT.
      • Other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs).
  2. Paper-2:
    • For admission to B.Arch and B.Planning courses.

exam pattern

  1. JEE Main consists of three subjects:
    • Physics.
    • Chemistry.
    • Mathematics.
  2. Number and type of questions:
    • Total Questions: 90.
      • 30 questions from each subject.
    • There are two sections in the paper:
      • Section A: 20 multiple choice questions in each subject.
      • Section B: 10 numerical questions (only 5 questions are mandatory in the new pattern).
  3. Time Limit:
    • Total 3 hours.

Result and ranking process

  • After the examination is over, the rank will be released on the basis of best NTA score of both the sessions.
  • JEE Advanced Eligibility:
    • 2,50,000 top rank holders can apply for advanced test.
    • Minimum Qualification for Advance:
      • 75% marks in 12th.
      • Or top 20 percentile in the respective board.

JEE Main: Why is it important?

  1. Gateway of IIT Admission:
    • Admission into IIT through JEE Advanced.
  2. Pattern Update:
    • Under the new pattern, the number of questions in Section B has been reduced to 5.
    • All questions will now be compulsory.

How to prepare?

  1. Understand the syllabus: Focus on Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
  2. Focus on the new pattern: Practice essential questions of Section B.
  3. Get information about exam schedule and slots on time.
