The estrogen hormone plays an important role in women’s sexual and reproductive development. It is also called female sex hormone, whose main function is to regulate women’s growth, reproductive health, regulation of menstrual cycle, bone health and protection from cardiovascular problems. But when estrogen levels become unbalanced, women may face many health problems, such as low sexual desire, weight gain, vaginal dryness, fatigue, osteoporosis, heart disease and mental health issues.

Symptoms of Estrogen Imbalance

When estrogen hormone levels are unbalanced, the following symptoms may occur:

  • dry skin
  • Depression
  • low sexual desire
  • weight gain
  • vaginal dryness
  • Tiredness
  • Noncancerous lumps in the breast and uterus
  • mood swings
  • sleep problems
  • Irregular or missing periods
  • increased pain during sex
  • decreased sexual desire
  • sudden warming of body

Ways to balance estrogen hormone

1. Protein rich diet

Protein is not only helpful in building the body but also in maintaining balanced hormone levels. Consuming adequate amounts of protein increases the levels of peptide hormones, which control appetite. If there is a decline in estrogen hormone, then include protein in your diet.

2. Reduce stress

Stress and lack of sleep are the main causes of hormonal imbalance. If you are already suffering from hormone imbalance, try to reduce stress and get at least 8 hours of sleep every day. Stress directly affects hormones, which can also affect your sex life.

3. Keep your weight under control

According to the National Library of Medicine, being overweight can cause estrogen hormone levels to drop, which interferes with the ovulation process in women, leading to problems like infertility. Therefore, it is necessary for women to maintain their weight balanced.
