An all -party delegation led by Sudhanshu Trivedi, a Rajya Sabha MP of the Bharatiya Janata Party and member of the Indian Parliamentary Delegation, met British Shadow Foreign Secretary Priti Patel on Monday. During this meeting, India expressed their perseverance in fighting the border terrorism and active separatist elements against India.

Trivedi insisted that terrorism for New Delhi “has never been acceptable and will not.” He also mentioned the worrying incidents where some isolated enemy elements of India were allegedly being promoted in the United Kingdom. He said that Indian authorities have expressed serious concern with the British government on the provocative works of these persons in Britain. Sharing the details of his conversation with Priti Patel, Trivedi said that Patel has “taken the matter seriously”.

Earlier, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla met Priti Patel on the occasion of the ‘International Conference and the 9th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Conference’ (IPC-CPA Conference). During this time Birla expressed serious concern over the ongoing divisive and separatist activities against India. The parliamentary delegation led by Britain MP Priti Patel was also on his state visit to an India and visited the “Narayan Seva Sansthan”. Equipment was donated to Divyang people in this institute. This was the first visit of an NGO to an NGO by a comprehensive delegation as an MP in India. The tour underlines the commitment of the two countries to fight the strength of India-Britain relations and to fight shared global threats like terrorism.
