Impact of Russia-Ukraine war: Denmark will recruit women soldiers, currently there are 9000 soldiers

There is a war raging across Europe between Russia and Ukraine.

In view of the current situation, the European country Denmark has decided to expand its army for the first time since 1990 and has announced the recruitment of women in the army. At the same time, it has been announced to increase the service period from four months to 11 months for the soldiers joining temporarily. This rule will also apply to women constables.

Danish PM Matt Frederiksen said that we want to expand recruitment in the army. According to the new strategy, the proportion of youth will be increased. In the present times when big challenges have arisen at the international level, we are organizing not to instigate war but to avoid war.

According to an international media report, Denmark currently has 9000 professional soldiers in its army. Whereas about 4700 soldiers are taking initial training. Denmark intends to increase military spending to $5.9 billion over the next five years. Following the end of the Cold War between Russia and the United States in the early 1990s, Denmark reduced its military strength.

But Russia, which is fighting a war with Ukraine, also considers NATO countries as its enemy and Russian President Putin has announced that Russia will now send its army to the border of Finland and because of this Denmark's concern has increased.
