Bangladesh Violence: There has been a long-running movement in Bangladesh demanding the abolition of the quota system in government jobs. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned on August 5 and left the country and came to India via Agartala from Dhaka. In view of the violence that erupted in Bangladesh, Indian Railways has decided to cancel many trains. Four passenger trains and goods trains going from Kolkata to Dhaka and Khulna have been stopped.

According to reports, 13109/13110 Kolkata-Dhaka-Kolkata Maitree Express has been cancelled. The train runs from Kolkata on Tuesdays and Fridays and from Dhaka on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

13107/13108 Dhaka-Kolkata-Dhaka Maitree Express departing from Kolkata on Saturday, Monday, Wednesday and from Dhaka on Friday, Sunday, Tuesday has also been cancelled.

13129/13130 ​​Kolkata-Khulna-Kolkata Bandhan Express has also been cancelled. The train runs from Kolkata on Thursdays and Sundays and from Khulna on Thursdays and Sundays.

13131/13132 Dhaka-New Jalpaiguri-Dhaka Mithali Express train services have been cancelled with immediate effect. According to sources, cargo operations have also been stopped. Currently, Indian Railways has 168 loaded wagons and 187 empty wagons in Bangladesh. Apart from this, 8 loaded rakes for Bangladesh have been stopped in India.

Air India suspends flights to Dhaka

In view of the spread of violence in Bangladesh, Air India on Monday (August 5) announced the immediate suspension of all flights to and from Dhaka. Posting on 'X', Air India wrote, 'In view of the emerging situation in Bangladesh, we have canceled the scheduled operation of our flights to and from Dhaka with immediate effect. We are constantly monitoring the situation.'
