Immediate action will be taken on violation of Model Code of Conduct: Deputy Commissioner

Simdega 18th April(His). Preparations have been completed in Simdega and Kolebira assembly regarding elections in Khunti parliamentary constituency. By organizing a press conference in the Collectorate on Thursday, the Deputy Commissioner and SP jointly gave detailed information related to the election preparations to the journalists.

Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar Singh said that nomination has started in Khunti parliamentary constituency from today. Election related preparations have almost been completed. Voting will take place on 13 May. People of the district came out of their homes in large numbers to reach the polling booth and vote. The Deputy Commissioner said that this time a target has been set to conduct 80 percent voting. This goal can be achieved with the collective efforts of everyone.

Singh said that permission for any kind of election related program in Simdega and Kolebira Assembly will be obtained from here only. Immediate action will be taken on violation of the model code of conduct.

SP Saurabh Kumar said that all preparations have been completed to conduct peaceful voting in the district. Police will be deputed according to the polling stations. QRT team has also been prepared and patrolling of potentially critical polling stations has already been started. More than five thousand security personnel will be deployed in both the assembly constituencies of the district, Simdega and Kolebra.
