IMD Weather Update Today 22 March 2024: Issuing the weather report, the India Meteorological Department said that a cyclonic circulation over North Jharkhand will cause heavy rains over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sikkim and Uttar Pradesh. There is a possibility of rain with isolated thunder and lightning over sub-Himalayan states like West Bengal.
The temperature in Chennai is expected to be 31 degrees Celsius.
IMD said that apart from this, there will be rain with strong winds in parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Kerala in South India, but the sky in Chennai is likely to remain clear and the maximum temperature will be around 31 degrees Celsius.
Rain and snowfall in the mountains
The weather department said a fresh western disturbance is likely to affect the western Himalayan region from the night of March 23. Due to its impact, there is a possibility of sporadic rain and snowfall and lightning in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Muzaffarabad, Uttarakhand and Himachal. ,
Winds will blow at a speed of 35 kilometers per hour
The Meteorological Department has said that apart from this, there is also a possibility of hailstorm with strong winds blowing at a speed of 25 to 35 km per hour in the upper parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal. Meanwhile, there is a possibility of sporadic heavy rain and snowfall in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim till March 25.
