According to the latest forecast of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), on July 26, 2026, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in most of the states of the country and heavy rain in many areas.
Intermittent showers in Delhi-NCR, some relief from humidity
There will be cloud cover throughout the day in the capital Delhi and surrounding NCR region. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain once or twice a day. During this period, cold winds will blow at a speed of 20 to 30 km per hour, due to which the weather will remain pleasant.
Today the maximum temperature in Delhi can be between 32 to 34 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature can be between 25 to 27 degrees Celsius. However, due to high humidity levels amid rains, slight stickiness may be felt.
Landslide warning in hilly states, advice to be cautious
Monsoon rains are at their peak in the hilly states of North India—Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir. IMD has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rain in many sensitive areas of these states.
There is a danger of landslides on the hill slopes and rivers and streams are in spate. The Meteorological Department and the local administration have given strict instructions to devotees, tourists and residents to avoid unnecessary travel to the mountains.
Heavy rain continues in Mumbai, Gujarat and Central India
Monsoon is looking completely kind in Central, Western and Eastern India also.

Maharashtra and Gujarat: Heavy rains continue in Konkan, Goa and coastal Gujarat. Intermittent torrential rains are expected in Mumbai and its suburban areas. Red/Orange alert of heavy rain has been issued in some parts of Gujarat.

Central and Eastern States: There are good chances of rain with thunder and strong winds in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bihar and Jharkhand.
How will the weather be in South and Northeast India?
In South India, moderate to widespread rainfall is expected over coastal Karnataka and Kerala, while light rain may occur over some areas of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
At the same time, monsoon clouds will rain heavily in Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh of North-East India. Along with heavy rains in these areas, there will be a risk of lightning and landslides in some sensitive areas.
