Monsoon rain update: Private weather agency Skymet said on Tuesday that monsoon will be normal in the country this year. This means that the monsoon rainfall in the four months between June and September is expected to be 102 percent. The Meteorological Department (IMD) also considers rainfall between 96 to 104 percent as average or normal. The long period average (LPA) of the four-month monsoon season is 868.6 mm, the agency said. The agency said that there will be more rain than normal in central and western parts of India. There will be normal rainfall over northern and southern parts and below normal rainfall over north-east India and eastern parts.

Chance of good rain in these states
According to the agency, there is a possibility of good rain in more than 20 states and union territories of the country. This includes Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and . Daman and Diu, Lakshadweep are included.
Normal and less rain is expected here
The agency said that there will be normal rainfall in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal, while there is a possibility of less rainfall in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim.
Temperature will drop due to storm in North Karnataka: IMD
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that there is a possibility of thunderstorm and rain over North Interior Karnataka in a day or two.
