IMD rain update: While the month of May is known for heat wave and scorching heat, the coldness is also felt in it equally. In this season, the month of April was also very comfortable for Delhi. Only one day in the entire month, on 26 April 2024, a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius was recorded. After this the mercury fell and has remained below normal for the last 5 days. The maximum temperature has dropped by about 5 degrees Celsius. Today i.e. on 3rd May also the day started with mild weather.

Delhi becomes cold in May

According to the Meteorological Department, today (May 3) the day temperature can go up to 38 degrees. However, it will be 3 points higher than the temperature of May 2. According to IMD forecast, the sky will be clear today, due to which the temperature is expected to increase. Along with this, strong surface winds will blow today. However, now an increase in temperature can be recorded every day. The maximum temperature can reach 38 degrees on Friday.

Rain will increase the heat on the weekend

There is a possibility of light rain on the weekend but a big increase in temperature may be seen. The maximum temperature of Delhi can go up to 40 degrees on Saturday and Sunday. This means that it can be said that the heat of summer is about to start in Delhi. By May 8, the temperature in Delhi may cross 40. There is currently no possibility of strong winds or rain in Delhi since the weekend.

Even in May last year, the weather was like February!

According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, on May 1 the day temperature had fallen to 33.7 degrees Celsius, which was 5 degrees Celsius less than normal. The minimum temperature also dropped below 20 degrees Celsius in the morning on 2 May. This year, the beginning of the month of May has been as cold as last year. Let us tell you, last year on May 1, 2023, the maximum temperature was recorded at 26.1 degrees Celsius, which was 12 degrees Celsius less than the normal temperature.
