The first match of the two-match Test series between India and Bangladesh was played at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. Team India has won this Test by 280 runs. The Chennai pitch looked quite balanced in terms of batting and bowling. The fast bowlers also got help on the pitch and the spinners also did wonders. Apart from this, the batsmen did not face much difficulty in batting.
Basit Ali takes a look at PCB
Seeing this balanced pitch of Chennai, former Pakistan batsman Basit Ali criticized the pitch curator of his own country. Talking on his YouTube channel, he revealed how bad pitches are made for Tests inside Pakistan.
Chennai's pitch was highly praised
Basit Ali said, “Bumrah took 5 wickets in that match, Ashwin took 6 wickets, Jadeja took 5 wickets, Siraj took 2 wickets and Akash Deep took 2 wickets. This is a figure of 20 wickets. The bowlers ticked all the boxes. India 2 played with the idea that the ball will spin. The spinners played, so the credit goes to the pitch curator, who knows how to prepare the pitch for a Test match, but I will not go that way.”
Basit Ali further said, “It is said in our country that the pitch does not matter. They are illiterate people. They are the only ones in the board (PCB) who have played cricket with pride. This makes me angry. You kids, if you ask Sunil Gavaskar and Javed Miandad, if you read the pitch well, 50 percent of the problem is solved.
The second test will be played in Kanpur
It is worth noting that the second and last test match of the test series between India and Bangladesh will be played in Kanpur, which will start from September 27. After this, both the teams will play a 3-match T20 series.
