Illegal arms factory busted again before Lok Sabha elections

Hamirpur, 19 April (HS). Before the Lok Sabha elections, the police in Hamirpur district on Friday again busted an illegal arms manufacturing factory and arrested two people and sent them to jail. The police have recovered a large quantity of finished and semi-finished weapons and equipment from their possession.

Additional Superintendent of Police Mayaram Verma said today that the police had received news of an illegal arms factory being operated in the government garbage house near Sena Road in Rath Kotwali area. On which the police force under the leadership of inspector in-charge Umesh Kumar Singh conducted a raid and arrested Bhan Singh son of Dharnidhar, resident of Lahdara Harpalpur Madhya Pradesh and Raju Vishwakarma son of Swamidin, resident of Chilli Rath Hamirpur. Told that 23 finished and 10 semi-finished weapons and equipment for making weapons have been recovered from the spot. Among these, eleven pistols of 315 bore, four country-made pistols of 12 bore, three single barrel guns of 12 bore, one pistol of 32 bore, four half pistols, a motorcycle and a large quantity of cartridges and shells have been recovered.

The accused used to make illegal weapons and sell them in Madhya Pradesh and surrounding areas. The accused also supported their family through this illegal business. Additional Superintendent of Police said that eight cases are registered against the arrested Bhan Singh in Madhya Pradesh and Mahoba. Whereas three cases are also registered against accused Raju in Majhgawan police station. Let us tell you that even before this, the police had busted an illegal arms factory in Rath area and recovered a huge quantity of arms and equipment.

-Illegal weapons were made by changing locations

Bhan Singh son of Dharnidhar and Raju Vishwakarma son of Swamidin told during interrogation that by changing places, they started manufacturing pistols and selling old guns and pistols by choosing safe places like fields and uninhabited houses, places and any closets, tubewells. They also repair guns and make guns and pistols and then take them to Madhya Pradesh and nearby districts and sell them at good prices. Whatever money is received from it, the accused divide it among themselves and use it to support their families.
