GATE 2027 complete schedule and important dates

IIT Madras has prepared the timeline for this national level examination to be conducted for engineering graduates. According to the official notification related to the examination, this year the application process will start on time, so that students can get enough time to fill the form. This entrance examination will be conducted in two sessions (morning and afternoon) on scheduled weekends in the month of February at various examination centers across the country. Candidates who want to take admission in the top IITs, NITs or other best institutes of the country must complete their registration on time by visiting the official portal, so that they do not face server or technical problems at the last moment.

Eligibility criteria and who can take this exam

It is very important for every applicant to understand the eligibility criteria set by IIT Madras to appear in the GATE exam. Candidates who have completed their graduation degree (BE/B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Sc) from a recognized institute in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science or Arts or who are currently studying in the final year of their graduation can apply for this examination. Apart from this, foreign students are also considered eligible for this examination under the prescribed rules. There is no age limit to appear for the exam, allowing qualified professionals and students of any age to take it to advance their careers.

What will be special in the exam pattern and marking scheme?

Talking about the exam pattern of GATE 2027, it will be completely conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. Mainly three types of questions are asked in the question paper – multiple choice questions (MCQs), multiple answer type questions (MSQs), and numerical answer type questions (NATs). This paper of total 100 marks includes questions related to General Aptitude as well as related engineering subjects and engineering mathematics. The provision of negative marking for wrong answers is only for MCQs, whereas negative marks are not deducted in MSQ and NAT questions. Proper time management and practicing previous years question papers prove to be the biggest key to achieve success in this examination.
