According to the subject-wise QS World Rankings released today, IIM Ahmedabad has been included among the top 25 business and management study institutes in the world. IIM-Bangalore and IIM-Calcutta have been ranked among the top 50 business and management studies institutes in the world.
Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is ranked number one in India in a public reputation ranking by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), London, a higher education analytics company. JNU ranks 20th in the world in terms of development studies.
Chennai-based Savita Institute of Medical Sciences and Technical Sciences is ranked 24th in the world among dental colleges.
QS CEO Jessica Turner said that one of the biggest challenges facing India is quality education. He said that this challenge has been identified in the National Education Policy 2020. The policy has set an ambitious target of 50 percent gross enrollment ratio by 2035.
According to QS, India is one of the fastest expanding search hubs in the world. He said searches have increased by 54 percent between 2017 and 2022, which is more than double the global average and much higher than Western counterparts.
He further said that India is now the world's largest country in the field of research in terms of volume and 1.3 lakh academic papers have been produced during this period which is behind China's 4.5 lakh, US's 4.4 lakh and UK's 1.4 lakh. .
