Ranchi, September 25 (HS). Regarding the increasing incidents of snatching in Ranchi, IG Akhilesh Jha held a review meeting with Ranchi DIG, SSP, City SP and all the police station incharges of the city on Wednesday.
IG Akhilesh Jha has directed all the station officers to work under the SOP made to curb snatching, so that incidents of snatching can be stopped. The IG has directed to put a stop to incidents of snatching at all costs. During the review, the IG found out station-wise how many snatching incidents have taken place in which police station area, in how many cases arrests have been made, how many snatching criminals have been identified who are continuously involved in the incidents.
The IG said that at present there is a huge shortage of personnel in Jharkhand due to VIP movements. However, all police officers have been instructed to curb the incidents of snatching by following the SOP in all circumstances.
