IG campaign held a meeting in view of elections, gave many guidelines

Ranchi, 26 April (Hindu). IG Operations cum State Police Nodal Officer AV Homkar held a meeting at the Police Headquarters on Friday in view of the Lok Sabha elections. In the meeting, a detailed review was done regarding law and order, action being taken against Naxalites, drugs, liquor etc. in all the districts. IG DIG, SSP and SP participated in the meeting through video conferencing.

The IG also gave several directions to the concerned officers during the meeting. He gave directions to all the districts affected by militancy to conduct planned operations continuously. Also said that Naxalites should not be able to carry out any untoward incident during the election process. Take full care of this. Also, special emphasis was laid on establishing coordination and conducting operations through security forces against the dynamic Naxalites on the inter-district and inter-state borders.

The IG asked to depute additional forces and keep special vigil on the already operated police check posts and nakas on all border areas. Also, all SPs were instructed to physically verify the concerned check post-block so that smuggling of illegally transported cash, illegal liquor, illegal weapons and narcotics can be completely stopped. The IG laid special emphasis on all DIGs, all Senior Superintendents of Police and SPs to take action on the execution of pending warrants and attachments in the districts under their jurisdiction. Also asked to take action against absconding criminals and take preventive action.
