
Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer Nidhi Tiwari, a native of Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been appointed as the private secretary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Department of Personnel and Training has released the office memorandum of this appointment.
Nidhi is a 2014 batch IFS officer and is currently working as Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office. The office memorandum states that the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Nidhi Tiwari as the private secretary of the Prime Minister. Before being appointed Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office in 2022, Nidhi has worked for international security matters in the Ministry of External Affairs. Nidhi as the Prime Minister’s private secretary will coordinate his programs, organize meetings and take contact with government departments. Nidhi secured 96th rank in the 2013 Civil Services Examination and has been in public service since then. His expertise in international relations has been very important in the Prime Minister’s Office. Especially in the Foreign Affairs and Security Department, where he reported directly to the National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
