News India Live, Digital Desk: The month of December (Context: 10 Dec) is going on and the harsh cold has started showing its effect. In this weather, one does not feel like getting out of the quilt in the morning and as soon as one comes out, the cold wind hits one’s chest. This is the time when uninvited guests like cold, cough, and fever make their arrival.
We Indians are crazy about “Ginger Tea”, but do you know that ginger is not just a spice that enhances the taste of tea, but is an Ayurvedic medicine? It is called the ‘superfood’ of winter.
Let us understand in simple language what wonders it can do for your body if you use ginger properly in this season.
1. Natural Remedy for Cold and Cough
It is common to have a runny nose or sore throat in winter. Ginger contains an element called ‘Gingerol’, which helps in fighting bacteria and viruses.
- Recipe: If your throat is sore, extract ginger juice, add some honey to it and lick it. Believe me, expensive cough syrup will provide quick relief.
2. Will keep the body warm from inside
Many people continue to feel cold even after wearing so many clothes. Ginger has a hot nature. When you consume it, it works as “internal heating” in the body. It increases your blood circulation, which maintains warmth in the body.
3. Will keep the stomach perfectly fit
In winter, we eat parathas with lots of ghee, carrot halwa and heavy food, which sometimes becomes difficult to digest. If you have problems with gas, indigestion or flatulence, chew a small piece of ginger before eating. It increases the ‘fire’ of digestion and food is easily digested.
4. Joint Pain Relief
As the cold increases, the knee pain of the elders of the house emerges. Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties. People who are suffering from arthritis or joint pain must consume ginger or massage with ginger oil.
Our suggestion:
Too much of everything is harmful. Ginger is very beneficial, but do not eat more than 3-4 grams in a day, otherwise acidity may occur. Add it to your tea, soup or dal and stay healthy this winter.
