If your phone gets stolen, delete your UPI ID while sitting at home, here are the steps

A few years ago, smartphones were used only for calling and messaging. But since the use of the internet has increased, the use of phones for every other work has also increased. Today we also use phones for online payments. In other words, the phone has become our wallet. Most people use UPI for online payments. But if your phone is lost or stolen, what will happen to such UPI app and its ID?

There is a high risk of personal and banking details getting leaked if the phone is lost or stolen. Anyone can misuse your UPI ID. But do you know that if your phone is lost or stolen, you can delete the UPI ID present in the phone sitting at home. Let's know the whole process.

Delete your data from Google Pay

If your phone is lost or stolen, the first thing you should do is delete your information from Google Pay. For this, call 18004190157 from another phone. Report the entire incident to customer care. The customer or authority will verify your information and block your UPI ID from Google Pay.

Remove UPI ID from PhonePe

If you use UPI on PhonePe, you have to call 02268727374 or 08068727374 to remove the ID from there. By calling you have to give all the information to the customer service officer. After verifying your details, the officer will block your UPI ID from PhonePe.

Delete UPI ID from Paytm

If you use Paytm, then call the helpline number 01204456456 to remove the UPI ID from there. Apart from this, you can also go to the Paytm website and click on the 24*7 help option and give your information. Here you will also have to give an FIR for the phone being lost. Afterwards, the Paytm account will be temporarily blocked.
