If you want to make Gurudwara like halwa at home then follow this easy recipe!

The trend of eating something sweet after meals has been going on for years. Be it a child or an adult, everyone gets into this habit. In Indian households, halwa, especially carrot halwa in winter and moong dal halwa, semolina and wheat halwa in other seasons, is often eaten after meals. The taste of halwa varies according to different ingredients and preparation.

Halwa found in Gurudwaras (Sikh temples) has a distinct taste and recreating the same taste at home can be quite challenging. If you want to make Gurudwara style halwa at home, then here is a very easy recipe for you.

Material:

Whole wheat flour (coarse) – 1 cup

Ghee (clarified butter) – 1 cup

Water – 2 cups

Sugar – 1 cup

Method:

– Take a heavy bottom pan, add ghee in it and heat it.

-Keep the flame low to medium. Add whole wheat flour to it and fry while stirring continuously.

-Fry the flour until its color becomes slightly darker and a sweet aroma starts coming from it.

– Slowly add water to the roasted flour and keep stirring continuously.

-Keep stirring until the flour absorbs water and becomes thick.

-When the flour is roasted well and starts separating from the ghee, add sugar to it and mix well.

-Keep cooking on low flame and the ghee will start separating, due to which the color of the halwa will become golden and the aroma will also be sweet.

-Your delicious and healthy halwa is ready. Serve it hot.
