Prayagraj, 23 September (HS). We have not made a sincere effort to adopt Hindi. It is not necessary that we use difficult Hindi. There is a need to use easy language which people can understand. It does not matter to me if people tell me that I do not know English, but it would be a matter of great shame for me if someone says that Justice Gautam Chaudhary does not know Hindi. If you want to know India, Hindi is necessary.
The above thoughts were expressed by the chief guest Justice Dr. Gautam Chaudhary of the High Court Prayagraj in a special lecture on the topic 'Official Language Hindi: Possibilities and Challenges in the Field of Justice' at the Regional Centre of Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University, Prayagraj on Monday. On this occasion, Justice Dr. Gautam Chaudhary was also honoured with a certificate of honour.
He further said that knowing English means knowing the world and knowing Hindi means knowing our India. To promote Hindi, we will have to break the stereotypes. There is no obstacle in working in Hindi, there is only lack of will power. We are not able to come out of the mentality of slavery. Even today in our society, those who read and speak English are considered more educated. Whereas in many other countries of the world like China, Japan, priority is given to reading and speaking in one's own language. We need to make Hindi a language of livelihood.
While presiding over the programme, Vice Chancellor Prof. Krishna Kumar Singh said that dialogue opens doors of possibilities. The efforts made by Justice Gautam Chaudhary for Hindi language will open doors of many possibilities in the field of justice. People like Justice Gautam Chaudhary are greatly needed in the field of justice. We will have to make efforts that Hindi language should get a place in place of English as our mother tongue. Kalidas has been a greater poet than Shakespeare, Hindi language has given great writers like Surdas, Kabir Das, Ramchandra Shukla whose literature is acknowledged by the world.
The Academic Director of Regional Centre Prayagraj, Professor Digambar Tangalvad did it. The Academic Director of the Centre welcomed the guests by giving them a memento of the University, a shawl and a cotton garland. The topic of the programme was presented by the Dean of Pravartan Sahitya Vidyapeeth, Professor Akhilesh Kumar Dubey and conducted by Dr. Anoop Kumar and the vote of thanks was given by the Registrar of Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University, Professor Anand Patil through online medium.
On this occasion, the experimental newspaper Media Samay was released by the students of Mass Communication. All the teachers, staff and research students of Regional Center Prayagraj were present in large numbers in the program. Dr. Avantika Shukla, Dr. Supriya Pathak, Dr. Asha Mishra, Dr. Akhtar Alam, Dr. Mithilesh Tiwari, Dr. Satyaveer, Dr. Shyam Singh, Jayendra Jaiswal, Subhash Shrivastava, Rahul Tripathi, Rashmi, Pratyush Shukla, Geeta Devi, Devmurti Dwivedi, Birju Prasad, Jagjivan Ram Prajapati, Rohit Kumar, Pitambar Gautam, Umesh Sharma, Aditya, Prabhat, Anuj, Prashant along with students and researchers were present.
