Ingredients for making Bajra Upma
- Bajra flour – 1 cup
- Ghee – 2 tbsp
- Leaves of the Neem tree
- Green chilli – 2
- Ginger
- Onion – 1
- Carrot- 1
- Peas – 1/4 cup
- Coriander
- Salt – as per taste
- Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon
How to make Bajra Upma
- – Sieve the millet flour in a vessel and heat the pan on gas.
- – When the pan is hot, add millet flour in it and fry on low flame till it becomes light brown. Then stir it continuously and brown it lightly.
- – When aroma comes, take out the flour in a vessel. – Then heat ghee or oil in a pan. – Add mustard seeds and when the mustard seeds start crackling, add curry leaves, green chillies and ginger and fry for 1 minute.
- Then add onion and fry until it turns golden. – After this add carrots and peas. Cook them until they become soft. – After this add water and spices in the pan and mix well.
- Slowly add the roasted millet flour to the boiling water and stir continuously to prevent lumps from forming. Let the upma cook on low flame for 5-7 minutes until it thickens.
- – Now turn off the gas and add lemon juice and green coriander.
- Bajri upma is ready.
