A new study has revealed that people who stay up late at night have a 46% higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes than those who wake up early in the morning.

The findings of this study are based on research conducted by Leiden University Medical Center in the Netherlands, which included 5,000 overweight individuals.

Studies show that night owls have a disrupted body clock, causing circadian misalignment. This condition may be linked to metabolic problems such as type 2 diabetes.

Those who wake up late increase their body fat

Researchers found that late risers had higher amounts of body fat, including visceral fat and Liver fat is also higher. Because of this, they are at higher risk for type 2 diabetes.

If night owls want to avoid type 2 diabetes and other health problems, they should adopt a healthy lifestyle. This includes a balanced diet, regular exercise, stress management and regular health checkups.
