Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha Elections 2024 : While the Lok Sabha election campaign is going on in the country, a video threatening a Samajwadi Party candidate is going viral. In the video, he is saying that if there are irregularities in the elections this time, will his body or that of the collector be found in the counting centre.
BJP people attacked me with sticks: SP candidate
Samajwadi Party (Samajwadi Party) on Saturday declared Sanatan Pandey as its candidate from Ballia seat in Uttar Pradesh. Pandey then reached Ballia and said, 'I was your winning candidate in the last elections, but even then there was a BJP government. At that time, the Collector here came under pressure and worked to change the election results. When I was coming out of the counting centre, BJP people attacked me with sticks, due to which the glass of my car was broken.
'I won the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, but…'
Sanatan Pandey said, 'I had won the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, but the district administration deliberately conspired under the pressure of power and declared me defeated. If there are irregularities in the elections this time, my body or that of the collector will be found in the counting centre. Now we will have the stick not of the government but of the Election Commission. Earlier the elections were held under the supervision of the Election Commission, but the administration here changed our results under pressure from the BJP government. We did not want to insult that system, so we accepted defeat in that election.
Complaint filed against Samajwadi Party candidate
After his video surfaced, the Kotwali police registered a complaint against Pandey in a hate speech case and action was taken against him under the provisions of violation of code of conduct, section 144 of intimidation and public representation. This action has been taken against the SP candidate on the complaint of Civil Lines outpost in-charge Makhan Singh.
